MRT Food Sensitivity Test

Reduce inflammation, pain, brain fog, and stress. Understand what foods work for you.

Instructions + Preparation

The MRT 170 food sensitivity test helps us identify which foods are causing inflammation in your body. These foods will be removed during the healing process. Please read these instructions carefully before proceeding with your blood test.

We will provide the MRT Test Kit to you. You will take the kit to a blood draw center and then mail it to the lab the same day. Please read these instructions carefully before having your blood drawn:

Locate FedEx Drop Off Location and Pick Up Time

  • Locate a Fed Ex drop off center and call them to find out what time packages are picked up.

  • Be sure to ship the test kit the same day as the blood draw. You'll need to schedule you blood draw early enough to make the fed ex pick up time.

Locate Blood Draw Center

  • Locate a blood draw center and schedule an appointment or ask if walk-ins are ok.

  •  Go to this site to find a place that will do your blood draw. https://nowleap.com/draw-locator/ This will give you several options for your blood draw including a mobile phlebotomist who will come to you (called Travalab)

  •  The lab doing the blood draw will likely charge a draw fee, payable at the time of service, which is separate from the invoice paid through Practice Better to get the kit. This is typically around $15 but lab prices will vary.

  •  If you can’t find a lab in your area from the Draw Locator website, take the kit to a hospital or any other “outpatient” lab. Large lab chains like Quest and LabCorp will not do ‘kit draws’. Small hospitals and outpatient clinics that have a lab are your best bet.

  •  You can also call Phlebotomy Services at (855) 600-3722 and they may be able to help you locate a lab locally.

Food and Water

  • Be well hydrated before the test. Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to and day of the blood draw.

  • There are no special food considerations.

Supplements

  • It is best stop all supplements for 3 days in advance  especially supplements that impact inflammation and the immune system.

Medications

  • Continue all doctor prescribed medications.

  • For medications that are short term, like antibiotics, wait 2 weeks after completing to take the MRT.

At the Lab

  • The Instructions for the technician are on a card inside the kit. The technician will follow the instructions and fill out the labels on each vial.

Shipping your Test Kit

  • It is important to ship the Test Kit on the same day as your blood is drawn.

  • Schedule your blood draw so that you have time to bring the kit to the Fed Ex drop off location in time to be mailed on the same day.

  • You do not have to pay for shipping. Shipping label and mailing envelope is included inside the test kit.

  • The blood sample should be taken Monday through Friday.

  • DO NOT SHIP OVER HOLIDAYS or WEEKENDS - Labs close for holidays. Check with me on lab schedules if you are doing a test around a holiday.

Paperwork:

  • Make sure the MRT Requisition Form that is inside the box is filled out. You must write in the time and date of the blood draw.
